‘Tricky motherf***ers’: Dakota Johnson's blunt take on dating musicians amid Machine Gun Kelly rumours
Los Angeles/IBNS: Hollywood star Dakota Johnson has been making headlines over her private life, with her relationships and recent dating rumours drawing considerable attention online.
Johnson split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin last year following an on-and-off relationship that lasted around eight years.
The Materialists actor was subsequently linked to singer-songwriter Tucker Pillsbury, popularly known by his stage name Role Model, whom she reportedly dated briefly in 2026.
Her romance with Role Model eventually came to an end, following which fresh speculation emerged about Johnson's relationship with rapper Machine Gun Kelly.
Dakota Johnson keeps relationship status private
Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly were recently spotted together while heading to singer Taylor Swift's Tribeca apartment, sparking speculation about a possible relationship between the two.
However, Johnson has remained tight-lipped about her personal life.
In a recent interview with Vogue, the Fifty Shades of Grey star was asked about her current relationship status but declined to comment.
"I don’t want to say anything about that," Johnson said.
'Tricky motherfuckers': Dakota on dating musicians
During the interview, Johnson also spoke about her closeness to musicians and her apparent history of dating them.
Asked why she seems to have a connection with musicians, Johnson said, "They like me. I don’t know what to say."
She then added, "And I like them."
When the interviewer followed up by asking, "What's not to like?", Johnson responded with a laugh: "A lot! A lot... Tricky motherf***ers."
Her candid remark has drawn attention amid the ongoing speculation surrounding her personal life and reported links to musicians.
Dakota Johnson’s upcoming projects
On the work front, Johnson’s upcoming projects include Verity, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, in which she stars alongside Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett.
She is also set to make her feature directorial debut with A Tree Is Blue, starring Jessica Alba and Charli XCX.
