London, Mar 14 (IBNS): British pop icon Zayn Malik and model  Gigi on Tuesday announced that they have decided to end their relationship.

They had been in a relationship for nearly two years.

Both of them posted their statement on Twitter to inform on the decision of ending their relationship.

Malik, a pop star who broke up with One Direction in 2015, and Hadid, a model and Taylor Swift squad member, were quite popular and their social media fans lovingly named the couple as 'ZiGi'.

Zayn said he has 'huge amount of respect and adoration' for Gigi.

He even called her an 'incredible soul'.

Malik said: "I'm grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time."
