SS Rajamouli's take on 'Parasite' as 'little boring' makes Twitter angry

Mumbai/IBNS:  Celebrated filmmaker from south SS Rajamouli seems to have made his Twitter fan following angry after he called Bong Joo-ho's Oscar-winning film Parasite 'little slow.'

The filmmaker, known for his blockbuster period drama series 'Baahubali', said he dozed off while watching 'Parasite', which also won Best Picture, Best International Feature and Best Original Screenplay at this year's Oscars.

'Parasite' is a 2019 South Korean black comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Han Jin-won.

In a recent interview with News18, Rajamouli said: "Parasite didn't work much for me. I felt the film was a little slow in the beginning. We started watching the film a little bit late around 10 pm, and so halfway through, I dozed off and slept."

However, his comment seemed to have offended his Twitter fan following.

One Twitter user commented: "#Rajamouli couldnt find anything to copy from #Parasite #Rajamouli thinks a movie is all about unrealistic elevation of the lead actor. Him not liking #Parasite is no surprise Ask Malayalam directors about Parasite they r more reliable since Malayalam movies r realistic."

Another post read: "Please comment on any film only after watching it properly and not sleeping midway. Not a movie buff's trait."

Interestingly while Rajamouli infused a lot of fantasies in his larger than life period series 'Baahubali', 'Parasite', set in South Korean backdrop, is all about class inequalities, greed and exploitation by projecting a contrasting image between the tales of two families from opposite ends of the socioeconomic spectrum.
