Malayalam star Mammootty was not the first choice for Alexander in the recently released Malayalam film, Abraham Ozler, revealed the film's lead actor Jayaram, media reports said.

Mammootty plays a cameo in the film, which is directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas.

In an interaction with Manorama Channel, Jayaram, who marked his comeback with Abraham Ozler, said the team had considered several actors including Prakash Raj for the cameo.

Mammootty expressed his desire to play Alexander when he met Midhun coincidentally.

Though Midhun initially turned down Mammootty's offer, Jayaram encouraged the filmmaker to have the actor on board for the role of Alexander.

As per a report by The Times of India, Ozler, a medical thriller, has collected over Rs. 11 crore in just five days since its release in theatres.
