Kolkata, Jan 6 (IBNS): Alleging that Surendra Lal Das Teachers Training College (B. According to reports, blocking a road nearby since Wednesday morning, locals were demonstrating against the private college's alleged forced occupation.

At around 9 am. as many as 300 protesters entered the college campus and vandalized few class rooms, hostel rooms, computer rooms and laboratories. They also set few rooms on fire.

Few cars, parked nearby, were also set on fire.

After getting information, a heave police force, Rapid Action Force (RAF), Combat Force and Fire Brigade rushed to the spot. Police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the mob and detained at least 30 people from the spot.

However, the situation has been brought under control completely. A huge police force and RAF have been stationed at the spot.
