Kolkata, Jan 10 (IBNS): Former national footballer Satyabrata Bhowmick was allegedly assaulted by local Trinamool Congress (TMC) members on Saturday evening at Bally Nischinda area in West Bengal's Howrah district, reports said.

According to reports, few members of TMC allegedly assaulted Satyabrata Bhowmick, who once played for both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, over a local property issue and forcibly made him apologize at local party office.

Meanwhile, local TMC leaders denied all allegations against them.

However, after receiving a written complaint from Satyabrata Bhowmick, police have started investigating into the matter.
No one has been arrested so far.
