Kolkata, Jan 10 (IBNS): Few Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters on Sunday allegedly attacked a rally of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and beat its supporters at Keshpur area in West Midnapore district of West Bengal, reports said.

According to reports, nearly 500 CPI-M supporters took part in a rally from Mahishda village to Keshpur market area in West Midnapore.

When the rally reached Kajibar village, few TMC workers allegedly attacked the rally and badly beat up CPI-M supporters

At least six CPI-M supporters were injured in the incident and were rushed to a nearby hospital.

A huge police force, led by West Midnapore's Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), went to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Protesting the attack, CPI-M supporters blocked Ghatal-Keshpur state highway for hours.

Meanwhile, local TMC leaders denied all allegations against them.

However, police have started investigation into the matter.
