Senior CPI leader AB Bardhan passes away

New Delhi, Jan 2 (IBNS): Senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan passed away in New Delhi on Saturday.

According to reports, he passed away after prolonged illness.

He was 92 when death came.

Born on Sept 25, 1924, A. B. Bardhan had served as the  former general secretary of theCommunist Party of India (CPI).

Meanwhile, political leaders have condoled the demise of the leader.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee tweeted: "Saddened at the passing of veteran politician AB Bardhan. Condolences to his family and colleagues in his party."

Communist Party of India-Marxist general secretary Sitaram Yechury mourned the death of the senior leader and posted: "Lal Salam, Comrade AB Bardhan."

BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi ‏ tweeted: "Demise of CPI leader A B Bardhan huge loss to Indian politics,My deep condolences to his family & well wishers."
