SC's order vindicates Congress' stand regarding Karnataka Governor's action : Rahul Gandhi
Raipur/New Delhi/Bengaluru, May 18 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi has said the Supreme Court's order to hold floor test in the Karnataka assembly vindicated his party's stand over the act of Governor Vajubhai Vala, who had earlier granted 15 days to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to prove their majority.
Although the BJP emerged as the single largest party winner in the state with 104 seats, it failed to secure the simple majority of 113.
Following the order, Rahul tweeted, "Today’s Supreme Court order, vindicates our stand that Governor Vala acted unconstitutionally. The BJP’s bluff that it will form the Govt., even without the numbers, has been called out by the court. Stopped legally, they will now try money & muscle, to steal the mandate."

BJP's BS Yeddyurappa has already been sworn in as the CM of the state.
A temporary Speaker will be selected to preside over the floor test in the Karnataka assembly. The top court has asked not to select anyone from the Anglo Indian community as the Speaker.
The apex court has also ruled out videography or use of secret ballots in the conduction of the floor test, which will be held at 4 pm on Saturday.
The legal battle has a genesis in the fractured mandate meted out by the Karnataka people in the recently concluded assembly polls.
The Congress and the JD(S), which had won 78 and 38 seats, respectively, united after the poll results to keep the BJP out of power.
The Congress and the JD(S) appealed to the Supreme Court on Wednesday night immediately after the Governor's invitation to Yeddyurappa to take oath as the CM.
However, after a three-hour long hearing well into the night, the top court refused to stay the swearing-in ceremony, which was held on Thursday.
