PM Modi visits Mahaveer Philippine Foundation, meets nine-year-old with Jaipur foot

Manila, Nov 13 (IBNS) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday visited  the Mahaveer Philippine Foundation in Manila which has rehabilitated million lives with the India made 'Jaipur foot.'

He visited the place on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit being held there.

"Wonderful visit to the Mahaveer Philippine Foundation. Their efforts of fitting the Jaipur Foot on needy .amputees have touched several lives. During my visit, saw a series of exhibits and interacted with amputees," the PM tweeted.

Modi also met a nine-year-old Philippino boy, Carlo Migel Silvano, who is one of thousands fitted with the 'Jaipur Foot', a rubber-based prosthetic leg for people having gone through below-knee amputation

"I want to be a policeman” my young friend told me…glad to see the Jaipur Foot giving wings to the aspirations of many youngsters like him," the PM tweeted.
