PM Modi meets PM and Dy PM of Malaysia in KL on way to Singapore

Kuala Lumpur, May 31 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on an official tour to several South East Asian countries, stopped in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday to meet his Malaysian counterpart Dr Mahathir Mohamad and discuss aspects related to cooperation between both countries.

Raveesh Kumar, official representative of Ministry of External Affairs, tweeted, "PM @narendramodi met Malaysian PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Kuala Lumpur. The two leaders had a productive exchange of views on strengthening our strategic partnership.  PM  congratulated Dr. Mahathir on assuming the post of Prime Minister of Malaysia. @chedetofficial @hcikl"

PM Modi also met Deputy PM of Malaysia Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail in Kuala Lumpur.

Tweeted MEA representative, "Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Wan Azizah called on PM @narendramodi during PM's brief stop over in Kuala Lumpur. Good discussion took place to take our relationship to newer heights. Former DPM Anwar Ibrahim was also present."

The Indian Prime Minister, before leaving for Singapore from Kuala Lumpur, said, "Glad to have met Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. I thank him for the warm welcome. We had productive discussions on further cementing India-Malaysia ties."
