Kolkata/IBNS: Another stack of cash has been recovered from an apartment of Arpita Mukherjee-close aide of arrested Bengal Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee- days after the Enforcement Directorate found Rs. 21 crores from her house in Tollygunge.

According to local media reports, the fresh pile of cash has been recovered from a shelf at Mukherjee's apartment in Belgharia.

Bank officials have been rushed to the spot with note-counting machines. So far Rs.15 crores of cash has been seized. The counting is still underway.

Earlier, the ED claimed to have learned explosive details related to the teacher recruitment scam from a black diary recovered from Mukherjee's house.

ED sources have revealed that the 40 pages in the diary have so much written that it could blow the lid off the secrets related to the SSC scam, according to the India Today report.

Both Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee are in ED's custody following their arrest under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) Act after the recovery of Rs 21 crore in cash from Mukherjee's house.

Chatterjee will be in the custody of the investigating agency till August 3.

Arpita Mukherjee has reportedly told investigators that the money was kickback from the state's massive teacher recruitment scam, NDTV reported.

She also alleged that only Chatterjee and his men had access to the room where the cash was kept. They used to come once every 10 days.

"Partha used my house and that of another woman as a mini-bank. That other woman is also his close friend," Mukherjee reportedly told investigators as per an NDTV report.
