Srinagar, May 17 (IBNS): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Jammu and Kashmir state on Saturday, suspected militants decamped with three INSAS rifles from a Srinagar hotel on Thursday evening, official said.

Reports said, a group of 6-7 motorcycle-borne youths appeared at the hotel gate and overpowered the cops before decamping with their rifles,  reports quoted police sources as saying.

Police has arrested the three cops from whom the assailants snatched the rifles.

The gun snatching is second incident of its kind in Srinagar in the last 24 hours.

On Wednesday, suspected militants snatched a rifle from a cop outside the gate of Kashmir University near Hazratbal shrine.

Meanwhile, the police has sealed the area and launched a search operation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting that state on Saturday to inaugurate many development projects.
