Kannur/UNI: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office at Payyanur in Kerala came under a bomb attack early Tuesday, police said.

However, no one was at the office during the attack as no casualty was reported.

According to Payyanur police, the incident took place around 1.30 am. Window panes at the front side of the office shattered and cupboards installed on the walls were partially damaged by the explosion.

Bomb and dog squads conducted searches at the site and large contingent of police have been at the site since.

Tense situations prevailed at Payyanur and nearby areas, however, things are under control, the police said.

BJP and Sangh parivar workers carried out a protest march in the town on Tuesday, while the CPI-M organized the sixth martyrs day at Kunnakkavu near Payyanur late Monday for CV Dhanaraj of Kunnaravu who was killed by RSS workers.
