Indian Navy evacuates 38 Indians stranded in Yemen
New Delhi, June 3 (IBNS): Indian Navy on Sunday said it has evacuated 38 stranded Indians from Socotra Island in Yemen.
The Indian nationals got stuck after a cyclone hit the area ten days ago.
All the Indian nationals rescued are reported to be safe.
Indian Navy spokesperson's official Twitter page read: "#HADR #OpNistar All 38 stranded Indian seafarers evacuated from Habidoh port Socotra being embarked onboard INS Sunayna by Rubberised inflatable boats (RHIBs) after security checks. Bad weather hampering progress of Operation."

The Indian Navy named the operation as 'NISTAR'.

38 Indians were left stranded after cyclonic storm Mekenu crossed the Yemeni Island of Socotra on May 24.
