India gifts disaster relief material to Nepal government

Kathmandu: India on Friday handed over food and disaster relief material to the Nepal government during a ceremony held in Kathmandu city.

The Indian envoy to Nepal Naveen Srivastava handed over 3000 tents and 10 motor inflatable boats to Nepali Home Minister  Bal Krishna Khand.

The official twitter page of the Indian Embassy in Nepal read: "Amb Shri Naveen Srivastava handed over flood & disaster relief material (3000 tents &10 motor inflatable boats) to Home Minister of Nepal @KhandBalkrishna @moha_nepal
at Singhdurbar, Kathmandu. Helping build a disaster-resilient."

In his remarks during the event, Srivastava expressed that this timely supply of relief material is optimally utilized by concerned agencies to ensure its maximum benefit by timely distribution and efficient utilization.

Minister Khand, in his remarks, thanked the Government of India for the timely delivery of the relief material and appreciated ongoing disaster relief-related cooperation between India and Nepal.

As close neighbors, India and Nepal share wide-ranging & multi-sectoral cooperation.

The gifting of relief material reflects the continued support of the Government of India in bolstering the Government of Nepal's efforts to build a disaster-resilient Nepal.
