Chennai, Nov 3 (IBNS): A continuous heavy rain has disrupted Chennai, capital city of Tamil Nadu, throwing the normal life out of gear, media reports said.

The rain started since 5 p.m. on Thursday and went on for hours.

The continuous rain led to the water-logging in the city creating health concerns as the sewage are mixing with the rain water.

All schools have been shut on Friday. The IT companies might also call off the day, reports said.

The rain had affected the flight movement in several airports and also slowed down the pace of the trains between Chennai Beach and Tambaram route.
