Kolkata, June 3 (IBNS): A 40-year-old Kolkata-based businessman died after his 3.5 crore Ferrari convertible crashed into the guard wall of Pakuria flyover under Domjur Police Station limits on NH6 at Salap area in Howrah district of West Bengal on Sunday morning, reports said.

According to reports, while returning from neighbouring Hooghly district, the Ferrari sports car (WB-02-AL-0808) suddenly lost its control at nearly 160 kmph speed and hit a roadside guard wall near Pakuria flyover at around 10 am.

Driver and a woman passenger of the car were seriously injured in the crash and were rushed to a Kolkata hospital where the owner-driver was declared dead.

"The deceased have been identified as Shibaji Roy (40), a resident of south Kolkata's Triangular Park area. He was the owner of the car and was driving the Ferrari while the accident took place," a local police official told IBNS.

Eyewitnesses said that the car was moving at a speed of approximately 160 km per hour when it lost control and collided with the guard wall.
