Customs seize 200-year-old East India Company's Tracker Telescope in Guwahati

Guwahati, May 11 (IBNS): The Customs sleuths have seized a 200-year-old East India Company's Tracker Telescope in Guwahati.

A Customs department official said that, based on intelligence input, the sleuths launched an operation and seized the 200-year-old  Tracker Telescope from one person at Kahilipara area in the city.

The man was looking for a intending buyer from Bhutan.

The Customs department registered a case under Customs Act and Antiquities and Treasures Act 1972.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is examining to ascertain the genuineness of the antique value.
