Congress slams Centre over GST Bill

| | Jan 02, 2016, at 12:15 am
New Delhi, Jan 1 (IBNS) The Congress on Friday attacked the BJP-led Central government and said it could not find a way to accommodate Opposition’s demands and pass the GST Bill.

"Modi Government has not found a way to accommodate Opposition’s demands and pass the GST Bill," Chidambaram said while addressing a press conference here.

He said: "Congress and other parties had objected to some provisions of GST Bill on well reasoned grounds."

"Modi Government has only itself and its stubborn attitude to blame. It has shown no willingness to engage with the Opposition on any important issue," he said.

Chidamabaram said people were not 'impressed' with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'numerous' foreign trips.

"People of India are not impressed with numerous foreign trips made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi," the former Union Finance Minister said.
