Chief of Naval Staff visits North East

Guwahati, May 13 (IBNS): Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Chief of Naval Staff commenced a four-day visit of the Spear Corps Zone on Sunday

During the course of his visit extending upto May 16, Admiral Lanba will visit the North East States of Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Kohima based Defence PRO Colonel Chiranjeet Konwer said that, in his capacity as the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee, Admiral Lanba will undertake an assessment of the security situation in the North East States.

He will be briefed at the Headquarters of the Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) in Manipur as well as at the Headquarters of the Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) in Silchar, besides interacting with heads of other security agencies operating in North East States.

During his visit, Admiral Lanba is also scheduled to meet the Hon’ble Governors of Mizoram and Tripura.
