CBSE to conduct medical entrance re-test on July 25
The decision came after the Supreme Court directed the board to conduct a re-test following entrance examination held on May 3 was marred in controversy over leak of paper.
"In compliance of the orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 15/06/2015 and 19/06/2015, the Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to re-conduct the All India Pre-Medical/ Pre-Dental Test - 2015 on 25th July, 2015(Saturday)," the Board said in a statement.
It said that no fresh applications will be accepted for this examination and it will be a retest only in respect of the candidates who had applied within the stipulated time from 01/12/2014 to 31/01/2015 with requisite fee.
"Candidates are advised to be in touch with the AIPMT website. All eligible candidates are requested to ensure functioning of their e-mail id’s and mobile number given while submitting their application to receive the updates issued by the CBSE from time to time," the statement added.
The Supreme Court had earlier scrapped the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) for admission to the MBBS course and directed the CBSE to conduct a fresh entrance examination within four weeks time.
Nearly 6.3 lakh candidates had registered for AIPMT in 2015.
