Assam: Three killed in road accident in Cachar district

Guwahati/IBNS: At least three people were killed after head-on-collision between a speedy dumper and an auto rickshaw in Assam’s Cachar district.

The incident took place on the Silchar-Haflong national highway on Sunday night.

According to the reports, a speedy dumper collided head-on with an auto rickshaw which was carrying passengers.

Two female passengers of the auto rickshaw were killed on spot while one male succumbed to his injuries at hospital.

However, the identities of the deceased persons are yet to be ascertained.

Following the accident, angry locals blocked the national highway for several hours and demanded the police and administration to control the speed of the vehicles.
