Assam floods: Aamir Khan donates Rs. 25 lakhs to CM relief fund

Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood star Aamir Khan donated Rs. 25 lakhs to the chief minister relief fund of Assam to help in the rehabilitation of flood victims of the state.

Thanking him for his contribution, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “Eminent Bollywood actor Amir Khan extended a helping hand to the flood-affected people of our State by making a generous contribution of ₹25 lakh towards CM Relief Fund. My sincere gratitude for his concern and act of generosity.”

The devastating Assam flood has affected 2,524 villages across 27 districts, with more than 200,000 displaced people taking shelter in 564 relief camps in the state, according to Assam’s Disaster Management Authority. The death toll has reached 127 already.

Several Bollywood personalities and even the Dalai Lama have reportedly made contributions to the CM relief fund for the affected people in the Assam flood.
