Arvind Kejriwal vows to fight for full statehood of Delhi, sends special message to PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, July 1 (IBNS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said his Aam Aadmi Party will continue its fight for full statehood of the national capital.

Speaking at a meeting at Delhi's Indira Gandhi stadium, Kejriwal said: "Delhi was first under Mughals, then Britishers came & is now caged under LG rule. Today, Delhi has come together for full freedom."

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should fulfill the promise of granting Delhi full statehood.

"What happened to his promise? If he does not fulfill it then he will not get a vote from Delhi," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal asked Rahul Gandhi to clarify whether the Congress president's party is in favour of Delhi being granted full statehood.

The Delhi assembly adopted a resolution on "full statehood" recently during a special session of it.
