Taliban meets former Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai

Kabul: Anas Haqqani, a member of the Taliban's political office, met former president Hamid Karzai and politician Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul city on Wednesday, just days after the group entered the Afghanistan capital and took control over the presidential palace.

Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani escaped Kabul on Sunday as Taliban entered the city.

Meanwhile, the Afghan embassy in Tajikistan has asked Interpol police to detain Ashraf Ghani, Hamdallah Mohib and Fazal Mahmood Fazli on charges of stealing public wealth, so that funds could be returned to #Afghanistan, sources told Tolo News.

On Sunday, the Taliban completed their takeover of Afghanistan by entering Kabul, which led to the collapse of the US-backed civilian government.After taking over Afghanistan, the Taliban promised that the media would be able to work in the Central Asian country without interference.
