Singapore confirms 876 new COVID-19 cases, total tops 23,000 - Health Ministry

Moscow/Sputnik:  The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Singapore has increased by 876 to 23,336 over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.

"As of 10 May 2020, 12pm [04:00 GMT], the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 876 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore, the vast majority of whom are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories. Three cases are Singaporeans/ Permanent Residents," the statement said.

A day before, the country's health authorities registered 753 cases of the infection.

At the same time, 20 people have died and more than 2,000 have recovered since the pandemic reached the Southeast Asian nation.
