RAB arrest two suspected terrorists from Dhaka

Dhaka, Aug 31 (IBNS):  The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have arrested two suspected terrorists from Sadarghat area of Dhaka city in Bangladesh, media reports said on Saturday.

They reportedly belong to the banned terror outfit Ansar Al Islam. 

The arrestees were identified as Abu Saleh Imu, 23, and Saif, 32, both are activists of Ansar Al Islam’s publicity wing, Muhammad Mohiuddin Faruqe, company commander of Rab-2 was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.

They were arrested after they arrived at the capital from Barishal, he said.

Imu was an admin of the outfit’s two Facebook pages “Ummah” and “Ibada”, from which they used to make different threats, and Saif was his associate, the Rab official told the newspaper.

Also, Saif is an accused in a case filed for taking two female activists of the banned outfit to Barishal who were later arrested by Rab, he added.

Officials recovered inciting leaflets, books, multimedia equipment including those for video making and dubbing, and other materials for publicity from their possession.
