PM Imran Khan to address nation today, fuels speculation over resignation

Islamabad: Pakistan PM Imran Khan is all set to address the nation on Wednesday, triggering speculation over his resignation after members of ally Muttahida Qaumi Movement quit the federal cabinet to give him a jolt.

Speaking to the media, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed was quoted as saying by Geo News that the prime minister will address the nation later today after an emergency meeting of the federal cabinet.

Earlier today, the premier announced that he will reveal to senior journalists and PTI allies “written evidence" of the letter he has been saying contains evidence of a foreign conspiracy against the government, as he wants to silence his critics who have been calling news of the letter "a drama", reports the news channel.

Voting on the no-confidence motion brought against Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will take place on April 3.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Pakistan's Interior Minister Rasheed announced the much-awaited date, adding that debate on the motion — tabled by Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif on Monday — will begin on March 31, reports Geo News.
