Islamabad, Jan 22 (IBNS): A collision between a  passenger coach and a truck carrying fuel in Hub tehsil of Balochistan's Lasbela district of Pakistan left at least 26 people dead, media reports said on Tuesday.

According to reports, the bus was carrying 40 travelers when the mishap occurred.

As per Dawn News report, a huge fire broke out following the collision, reportedly because the truck was carrying Iranian diesel. Huge flames engulfed the coach and the truck and trapped those inside the two vehicles.

“We have recovered 24 bodies from the vehicle. All of them were burned,” Lasbela Deputy Commissioner Shabir Mengal told Dawn News. “The bus is very hot from the inside, we are taking out bodies slowly.”

Fronteir Corps, Levies and police personnel took part in the rescue operation after the incident occurred.

Sixteen people, who were injured in the incident, were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Several bodies recovered from the site of the collision were burnt beyond recognition, reports said.
