Pakistan flight tragedy: Junaid Jamshed dies

Islamabad, Dec 8 (IBNS): Singer-turned-preacher Junaid Jamshed passed away in the PIA flight PK-661 mishap that left 47 passengers killed, media reports said.

The singer's wife was also killed in the mishap.

All 47 passengers on board PIA flight PK-661, which crashed near Abbottabad in Pakistan on Wednesday.

The aircraft was on its way to Islamabad from Chitral.

Pakistan authorities confirmed that all 47 people on broad have died.

"Sad & tragic incident, confirming no survivors of 47 aboard crashed flight #PK661," CCA Pakistan tweeted.

PIA's ATR-42 aircraft operating as PK-661, carrying 47 persons lost its contact with the control tower on its way from Chitral to Islamabad a short while ago," PIA Spokesman Daniyal Gilani tweeted.

Former Pakistani cricketer-turned-poliician Imran Khan tweeted: "Shocked & saddened by the tragic PIA plane crash near HavelIan. May Allah give the families of the deceased courage to bear their loss."
