Pakistan blast kills 25,Deputy Chairman Senate injured

Quetta, May 12 (IBNS): At least 25 people were killed in a blast that hit Mastung area of Pakistan's Balochistan province on Friday, media reports said.

The incident reportedly left 30 others injured.

The injured include Deputy Chairman Senate of Pakistan Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, local media reports said.

District Health Officer in Mastung Dr Sher Zaman was quoted as saying by Geo News, "25 bodies have been shifted to two hospitals in Quetta."

As per local media reports, the target of the blast was  Haideri’s convoy.

He has been reportedly shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Quetta.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has condemned the attack.

The area has been cordoned off.

Investigation is currently underway.
