Unknown gunmen shot dead a local journalist who was working with a news agency in Pakistan's Mastung region on Wednesday.

The journalist was identified as  Nisar Ahmed Lehri.

He was returning home when he was attacked by gunmen.

He was killed on the spot.

Police rushed to the site after receiving information about the incident and shifted the body to Nawab Raisani Memorial Hospital, reported Dawn News.

Police suspect the killing to a tribal clash over a land dispute.

“We are investigating the incident,” a senior police officer told Dawn News.

The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) have condemned the incident.
