Enforced disappearance in Pakistan: Family members of victims demonstrate in Karachi

Islamabad: Families of Shia victims of ‘enforced disappearance’ demonstrated close to Karachi's Mazar-i-Quaid on Dec 25.

They protested on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Pakistan's founding father Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

Members of the affected families and leaders and supporters of the Joint Action Committee for Shia Missing Persons participated in the protest demonstration, reports Dawn News.

The  protest was led by Maulana Haider Abbas Zaidi, Maulana Aqeel Moosa, Allama Sadiq Jafari, Allama Mubashir Hassan, Naveed Abbas and others.

The protesters said people who were violating the policies of Jinnah had no rights to celebrate his anniversary.

The families alleged that the authorities concerned subjected innocent Shia Muslims to enforced disappearance because of sectarian bias and discrimination, reports Dawn News.
