| @indiablooms | May 14, 2021, at 05:23 am

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has slammed China and said Beijing broadly criminalizes religious expression and continues to commit crimes against humanity and genocide against Muslim Uyghurs.

"China broadly criminalizes religious expression and continues to commit crimes against humanity and genocide against Muslim Uyghurs and members of other religious and ethnic minority groups," he said in a statement.

The US leader made the remark as the country released its report on  international religious freedom.

He made the remark at a time when the relationship between the US and China has hit a new low in recent years.
