Bangladesh: Teenager raped in Dhaka

Dhaka/IBNS: A minor girl has been gang-raped in Bangladesh capital Dhaka city's Uttara region, media reports said.

The incident occurred close to the Kaola area near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 2:30am.

Confirming the matter, Dhaka Medical College Hospital's One Stop Crisis Centre Coordinator Dr Bilkis Begum told Dhaka Tribune: "The 14-year-old girl was rescued after the crime and brought to us by another teenager."

"After running some primary tests, we have found evidence of rape," Begum said.

DMCH police outpost In-Charge Md Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter to the newspaper.

No arrest has been made so far.
