Bangladesh: Russian nuclear power project employee jumps to death from residential building

A Russian woman, who was working at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project in Bangladesh's Pabna region, ended her life by by jumping from the fourth floor of a residential building on Saturday.

She was identified as Poshtaruk Ksenii.

She was reportedly working with the SMU-1, a company which was involved with the construction of the plant.

Police told Dhaka Tribune the incident took place around 4am in flat 42 of building 9, part of the Green City residential complex for project staff.

A doctor in the housing society declared her dead.

OC Shahidul Islam told the newspaper that initial findings indicate that the incident might have stemmed from a quarrel between Ksenii and her husband.

According to reports, the woman's husband has been taken for questioning.
