Bangladesh reports 54 COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

Dhaka/IBNS: Bangladesh reported 54 COVID-19 patients in the past 24 hours, taking the number of infected people in the nation to 218, media reports said.

The death toll climbed to 20 after three more patients died from the infection, according to IEDCR Director Meerjady Sabrina Flora, reported bdnews24.

This is the biggest jump reported in the country in a duration of 24 hours.

The first COVID-19 positive case was reported in Bangladesh on Mar 8.

After being believed to have originated from China's Wuhan region, the COVID-19 spread in different corners of the globe in the past few months.
