Bangladesh making significant economic recovery from COVID-19: Bhutan PM Tshering

Dhaka:  Bhutanese Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering said Bangladesh is making a significant economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Appreciating PM Sheikh Hasina and her leadership, he was quoted as saying by Dhaka Tribune: "Bangladesh is always very close to my heart."

The Bhutanese leader made the remark while addressing during a signing ceremony of the preferential trade agreement (PTA) between Bangladesh and Bhutan virtually, marking the 50th year of the recognition of Bangladesh by Bhutan.

Hasina also joined the ceremony virtually.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Bhutanese Foreign Minister Lyonpo Dr Tandi Dorji, Economic Affairs Minister Lyonpo Lonath Sharma and senior officials including the foreign and commerce secretaries of Bangladesh also joined the event, reports Dhaka Tribune.

"We can see Bangladesh is making a very impressive economic recovery from the pandemic," he was quoted as saying.
