Bangladesh: Key suspect in Refat Shorif murder incident killed during alleged shootout

Dhaka, July 2 (IBNS): In an alleged shootout with the police, a key suspect in the killing of Refat Shorif in front of his wife in Barguna town of Bangladesh was killed, media reports said on Tuesday.

The suspect, who dubbed himself as Nayan Bond in his crime world, died during a police raid to arrest criminals near the Payra river in Barguna Sadar Upazila at 4am Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Maruf Hossain told bdnews24.

The drive was conducted by a team of police led by Additional Superintendent of Police MD Shahjahan Hossain.

A pistol, a bullet and three local weapons were recovered from the spot by the police.

Four policemen were reportedly hurt in the incident.
