Bangladesh: Human trafficking kingpin arrested

Dhaka: Bangladesh security officials have arrested  an alleged human trafficker who smuggled a 14-year-old girl into India by promising her a job in Malaysia, media reports said.

The man has been identified as Mohenuzzan alias Protik.

He was arrested from Chittagong on Monday.

Mohenuzzan alias Protik, 26, has been arrested from Chittagong on Monday, Additional DIG of CID Sheikh Md Rezaul Haider was quoted as saying by Dhaka Tribune at a press conference in its headquarters of Dhaka.

He said, the arrested Protik, along with his wife Jannatul Zerin, abducted the girl in November of last year from Sobujbag area of Dhaka.

“Previously, the car carrying the victim reached at Jessore’s Sharsha area and she was raped after making her intoxicated. Later, she was raped in that house again,” said Sheikh Md Rezaul Haider.
