Dhaka: A fire broke out on the ground floor of the Le Méridien hotel building in Bangladesh capital Dhaka city on Saturday.

Panic spread through the building when the fire started at the 13-storey building on Saturday afternoon, reports bdnews24.

Four fire service units are currently at the spot to bring the fire under control.

“We believe the fire started in a garbage container on the ground floor. Smoke has clouded the entire area,” Raqibul Islam, the officer on duty at the Fire Service Control Room, told bdnews24.

The source and cause of the fire are still not known.
