Dhaka, Apr 19 (IBNS):  Two people, including a constable of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), were arrested with 990 yaba tablets close to Bangladesh capital Dhaka city, media reports said on Friday.

The arrestees were identified as Taijuddin, a CID constable of Dhaka’s Uttara zone, and his associate Mofiz Mia, reported The Daily Star.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Detectives Branch (DB) of police, intercepted a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Changaon area of Savar around 6:45pm, Abul Bashar, officer-in-charge of DB in Dhaka (north) told the newspaper.

At one stage, the detectives searched Taijuddin and Mofiz and recovered around 990 yaba pills from their possessions, the DB OC told The Daily Star.

A case has been filed in connection with the case.
