Kabul: Afghanistan and Pakistani troops exchanged fire at a crossing point in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province on Monday, media reports said.

Officials in Kandahar confirmed on Monday to Afghanistan Times that clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces, saying it occurred in the Loqman village of Spin Boldak and lasted for several hours.

Gholam Yahya Alavi, spokesman of the 205 Atal army corps based in Kandahar, told the newspaper the clash was over and Pakistani troops were pushed back.

Alavi told the news portal that one Afghan soldier was injured and a vehicle was damaged, but could not offer an exact number of Pakistan forces’ casualties.
