Afghanistan: Suicide bomber targets funeral ceremony in Nangarhar, several killed

Kabul/IBNS: A suicide bomber targeted a funeral ceremony in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province which left at least 47 people wounded or killed, media reports said.

According to a statement released by Governor’s Office of Nangarhar, a suicide bomber targeted the funeral ceremony of Sheikh Akram, a commander of the Afghan Local Police forces, who died of a heart attack last night, reported Khaama Press.

Attaullah Khogyani, a spokesperson for the provincial government told the news agency that the explosion killed 17 people and wounded at least 30 others.

No terror group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
