Afghanistan security forces kill Taliban's shadow deputy governor for Panjshir

Kabul, Aug 4 (IBNS): During an operation, Afghanistan security forces have killed Taliban’s designated deputy governor for Panjshir Province and five fighters of the group , country's Ministry of Interior said.

"A notorious Taliban commander Abdul Ahad known as Zulfiqar, Taliban’s shadow deputy governor for Panjshir province killed along with his five bodyguards in an overnight operation carried out by General Command of Police Special Units (GCPSU) in Aahengran village, Nejrab district of Kapisa," read a statement issued by the ministry.

GCPSU seized light and heavy rounds of ammunition and weapons and destroyed several vehicles used by the militants.

Zulfiqar was the main planner and organizer of terrorists and destructive activities, armed assault and explosions in Kapisa and Panjshir provinces, the statement said.
