Afghanistan: Khost Police Chief killed in roadside bomb explosion

Khost/IBNS: A roadside bomb blast on Friday left police chief of South-eastern Khost province of Afghanistan killed, media reports said.

Tariq Arian, a spokesperson for Ministry of Interior, confirmed that a roadside bomb went off in Nader Shah Kot district of Khost late on Thursday, killing General Ahmad Babazai, the Police Chief of Khost province, Khaama Press.

Arian further told the Afghanistan-based news agency that Gen. Babazai was leading a counter-terrorism in Zeni Khel area of the district when the incident took place.

No terror group has commented on the issue so far.
