Afghanistan: Explosion in northern Baghlan province leaves 2 killed

Kabul, June 4 (IBNS): At least two people were killed as an explosion rocked Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province on Tuesday, media reports said.

The blast left 14 others hurt, reports said.

The incident took place in Nahrin district of Baghlan after an improvised explosive device planted close to a mosque went off, reported Khaama Press.

A spokesman for Baghlan Police Ahmad Jawid Basharat confirmed  to the news agency that the explosion took place as a number of people were leaving the mosque after Eid prayers.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
