Kabul, May 7 (IBNS):  The deputy commander of Taliban for southern Uruzgan province of Afghanistan was killed during an airstrike in the country on Monday, media reports said.

He has been identified by local media as Haji Ustaz.

“Deputy Taliban Commander for Uruzgan province, Haji Ustaz, was killed in an airstrike conducted in Tarin Kot district May 4, 2019,” military sources told Khaama Press.

Taliban or any other group have not commented on the issue, reports said.

As per Khaama Press report, Uruzgan is among the relatively volatile provinces in South of Afghanistan. Taliban militants are active in some of the restive districts of the province including Tainkot and often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities against the government and security institutions.
