Afghan police arrest 5 drug smugglers, destroy 2 heroin labs
Kabul/Xinhua: The police have arrested five drug smugglers and destroyed two heroin labs in separate operations in Afghanistan, said a statement released by the Ministry of Interior Affairs on Tuesday.
Two people have been arrested in the capital city Kabul and three others from the southern Helmand province, the statement said, adding that 20 kg of heroin and 40 kg of hashish have been recovered from their possession.
The police have also destroyed two heroin labs in Ghani Khil district of eastern Nangarhar province, the statement said.
